IBM Support Operator AS400 Contract Location of role:
Lake Zurich IL 2 days a week onsite This role could be a contract or contract to hire down the road.
If converted to full time role would pay around 80K to 90K.

years of IBM Systems Admin AS400 Experience, keeping systems operating efficiently by performing any necessary Windows updates Tier 1 and Tier 2 IBM Support Operator will support the IBM, Infor XA & WMS developers by fielding help tickets, gathering information from users, performing simple tasks related to our ERP and WMS software.
Monitor errors that occur (iSeries/Tibco/WMS) all via email notifications.
Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems Provide documentation, and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure Duties/

Month-end processing Test environment refreshes Patches/upgrades Basic housekeeping to keep system lean and clean On-boarding and off-boarding Create new and disable iSeries user profiles and personal libraries.
o Provide access to XA, DC1, RF and WMS(SCE).
o Security/Give authority to functionality within ERP systems XA, DC1, SCE, RF Review & attend to performance logs & system health monitoring o CPU and storage utilization of all servers o Monitor nightly backups of all servers o Error message handling for all servers o Review CPU and memory levels o Schedule IPL and notification to users Perform IPL of iSeries Install XA PTFs.
Create printer output queues.
Enter and removal of Job Scheduler entries.
Monitor ticket system, follow-up and provide status on open support tickets to the users.
o Provide navigation and usage assistance for XA, DC1, SCE, RF Monitor and handle errors that occur (iSeries/Tibco/WMS) be 1stfilter of system errors.
o Monitor and handle BOD/integration errors general error handling (SCE +) o WMS can die and we are not notified recovering procedures o Confirm unattached jobs on iSeries are running every morning.
Learn to use tools to be able to upload data to XA, DC1 systems:
Purchase Orders, New Items, Pricing training of data retention policies.
Running security testing.
